C.A.R.E.S Clinician—Youth Severe Program

Full time  - 38 hours per week contract until 30 June 2021

Contract may be extended as per funding agreements

Salary range: $67,382 to $70,966 (Plus Superannuation). Salary Sacrifice is also available.

The headspace CARES Clinician is responsible for provision of case management, care co-ordination and clinical services within the context of an integrated mental health service (headspace Griffith) for young people who have been diagnosed with a mental health disorder or are at high risk of developing severe and persistent Mental Illness. The position will include working within the operational and geographical boundaries of headspace Griffith and will involve outreach to more isolated communities. Centacare SouthWest NSW is the lead agency for headspace Griffith and is supported by the headspace Griffith Consortium.

The position will have two key functions:

1.   Assertive case management, focused on   outreach into the community targeting very hard to reach young people, designed to support the young person and family to link in with services and pursue recovery goals.

2. Evidence based focused psychological interventions focused on improving symptoms, decreasing risk, minimizing distress and progressing towards identified recovery goals.


To be considered for this position, experience working with young people will be favourable and knowledge of the mental health needs of young people aged 12 - 25 years is essential.  Tertiary qualifications—Bachelor Social Work, Psychology or Health Sciences (Current registration or ability to register with a discipline specific board) are essential.
