School Wellbeing Programs

Centacare assists Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wagga Wagga in meeting the needs of children, young people, families and school staff to enhance the wellbeing and development of children and the school community. We pride ourselves on working collaboratively with other key stakeholders to promote best practice outcomes for all clients.

We provide a range of services that include prevention, restorative practices, early intervention, intervention and post-vention.

The Friends Program (4-7 years)

What are the FRIENDS Programs?

The FRIENDS Programs are a suite of evidence-based, social and emotional skills Programs
aimed at building resilience of individuals and families across the lifespan. The FRIENDS Programs are the only Programs endorsed by the World Health Organisation as best practice for the prevention and treatment of anxiety and depression.

The Friends Program (8-11 years)

FRIENDS for Life teaches participants to cope with their feelings and the feelings of other by training them to think more positively and to relax and regulate their bodies. FRIENDS for life also teaches confidence and ways to tackle problems which helps build self esteem as participants start to solve problems they would have previously shied away from. More importantly, FRIENDS for Life enables participants to be happy, smile and be brave which helps them easily transition to their teenage years.
